Description : The ICRC, for the second time, joined hands with the Jammu and Kashmir health authorities to organise two Emergency Room Trauma Course programmes in Jammu and Srinagar.

Article from the 29/01/2015 on the ICRC blog New Dehli:

"Training in Emergency Room Trauma in J&K gets a boost

The state health ministry in Jammu and Kashmir has launched a Basic Life Support (BLS) training programme for the citizens. This comes as an encouragement to the efforts of the ICRC which started organizing such emergency room trauma courses (ERTC) in the state in two years ago.

In 2013, 20 medics from the state had received similar training that enabled them to deal with trauma cases with a systematic clinical approach. in 2014, the ICRC, the Directorate of Health Services and Government Medical College (GMC) jointly conducted the course in three batches (17-19 December in Jammu; 22-24 December in Srinagar; and 26-27 December in Dhobiwan). The training courses were well received. The ICRC has long experience in providing health care to trauma victims and runs similar courses worldwide.

The trainings were also well publicised by the local media (article reproduced below), and appreciated by the beneficiaries and health authorities."
