As part of the ICRC's Central Tracing Agency, the African Centre for Medicolegal Systems aims to establish a multidisciplinary community network for African forensic policy makers and practitioners. It also aims to promote the importance of local forensic expertise in resolving cases of separated and missing persons as a result of conflict, disaster and migration on the African continent.
