During the year 1943, the Joint Relief Commission of the International Red Cross was entrusted with the purchase, shipment and distribution of food and medical supplies donated for the civilian Norwegian population.

The balance was alloted for children meals organised at the Swedish Church of Oslo. The photos show the tables of children, small and big, in their respective refectories, as well as the crowd in the improvised pantry. The pleasure of receiving is equalled only by that of giving out such good things.
