From 18 to 20 September 2006, the ICRC delegation in Kabul, jointly with the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS), organised a conference on Islam and IHL. The conference took place at the headquarters of the ARCS in Kabul.
During three days of discussions in small groups and debates with the whole participants, the main rules of IHL (protection of wounded and sick, protection of prisoners, protection of civilians, special people and objects under protection and the role of the Movement in conflicts) were discussed at the light of relevant Islamic laws, values and principles.
