Description :
The signing of a peace agreement in August 2005 between the Indonesian Government and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) in Helsinki opened up a new chapter in Indonesia's history. For the Acehnese, however, prosperity is a distant goal after three decades of conflict. The ICRC is helping them to rebuild their homes and lives.
The ICRC helped repair the roads while the Indonesian authorities rebuilt the bridge.
