Au dos: Flour being loaded in the sailing ship "Dennis Assan" at the port of Beirut for shipment to Haifa where they will be distributed among the 300'000 or more refugees located in some 15 camps in northern and central Palestine. The ICRC, in agreement with the United Nations, makes the distribution of these supplies in the refugee camps. The UN is supplying essential food, tents, blankets and other commodities to the 750'000 Palestine refugees. The medical supplies loaded on this ship were furnished by the UNICEF which also supplies milk and other supplementary rations for children and nursing and expectant mothers.
