Description :
Au dos: The sailing ship Dennis Assan loading 300 tons of oil, flour, and medical supplies in the port of Beirut for shipment to Haifa where they will be distributed among the 300,000 or more refugees located in some 15 camps in northern and central Palestine. The International Committee of the Red Cross, in agreement with the United Nations, makes the distribution of these supplies in the refugee camps. The United Nations is supplying essential food, tents, blankets, and other commodities to the 750,000 Palestine refugees. The medical supplies loaded on this ship were furnished by the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, which also supplies milk and other supplementary rations for children and nursing and expectant mothers.
