Description : Si le UNHCR gère des programmes sanitaires et médicaux en faveur des réfugiés afghans au Pakistan, le CICR soigne les blessés de guerre dans son hôpital de Peshawar, où officient des équipes chirurgicales finlandaises et suisses, et gère également un centre de réhabilitation orthopédique. Le CICR n’a pu prévenir l’exécution d’un détenu soviétique aux mains des rebelles afghans et déplore le fait qu’il ne peut plus assurer son rôle de protection en Afghanistan, le visa de ses délégués n’ayant pas été renouvelés depuis mi-juin 1980.
