Description : Agadez is situated 900 km North West from the capital of Niger, Niamey and 700km South from the Libyan border. Migrants travel the 700 km across the desert on top of trucks overloaded with bags of cereal, barrels and wheelbarrows. The journey takes 3-5 days and trucks ride day and night. Some migrants (mostly Nigeriens) are transported by the IOM (International Organization for Migration), others by their own means. Every year, thousands of Africans cross Niger (and Mali) to get to Algeria or Libya and then try their luck to get to Europe.
