Description : Since the beginning of the conflict over 200,000 people have fled to camps, schools, places of worship and relatives to seek shelter. But nowhere it is sure to be safe. People live in constant fear of a violent death, and many are exhausted from days of sleep deprivation because of the loud, scary nights. The ICRC works closely with the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to meet the vital needs of the displaced. So far emergency household items and PRCS food parcels have been distributed to 3'500 displaced people.
The biggest challenge the ICRC is facing in Gaza is to protect people from the consequences of ongoing fighting.
