Description :
During the Ebola outbreak, the ICRC supported the Liberian government to dispose Ebola waste from the Ebola Treatment Units in the capital. The ICRC brought in the country two state of the art trucks and trained local government staff to carry the removal of Ebola waste safely. The crew transported the sewage from the Ebola Treatment Units in the water treatment plant of Fiamah, in Monrovia’s neighbourhood of Sinkor. Once ICRC completed the project in April 2015, the desludging trucks were donated to the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation.
