Description :
On 25, 26 and 28 April 2016, a national wheelchair basketball tournament was organised in Kabul at ICRC orthopaedic centre with the four female teams currently existing around the country: Mazar-i-Sharif, Herat, Jalalabad and Kabul. The semi-finals took place on 26 April.
On 28, the final and the final for the 3rd place took place. Kabul beat Jalalabad to win 3rd spot and Mazar-i-Sharif beat Herat in a highly contested final, in front of an animated crowd of relatives, patients and staff of the orthopaedic centre.
Between the two games, a short futsal game was organised with the children. This was their first public appearance and first competitive game.
