Description :
Because of the renewed fighting in Leer region over the last months, tens of thousands of people could not access their crops and were forced to survive on wild fruit and fish. Many of them lost their homes and livelihoods. In December 2016, the ICRC distributed emergency food to some 11,000 families in Leer and surrounding areas. This was possible thanks to the constant dialogue with all those involved in the fighting.
