Description :
Aissata is one of many children affected by the conflict in the North East of Nigeria. She was separated from her family two years ago at the age of 14. Displaced by the conflict, she managed to get to Diffa in Niger Republic. With the support of her foster family, the ICRC in Maiduguri was able to trace her family and made it possible for Aissata to speak with her mother for the first time after two years of being separated. With the link restored, Aissata was, on the 25th of January 2017, reunited with her parents and loved ones including her niece who she met for the first time
