"The Updated Commentary on the First Geneva Convention was launched at the China University of Political Science and Law on May 17th. The book launch, co-organized by the ICRC and International law school of the CUPL drew dozens of participants who had discussions with experts on the spot. Dr. Jean-Marie Henckaerts, Head of Commentaries Update Unit of the ICRC, presented an overview of the methodology and process of updating the Commentary on the First Geneva Convention relating to the protection of the wounded and sick in the armed forces. He also summarize the main evolutions in the interpretation of the treaty norms reflected in the updated Commentary."
