Description :
Approximately 70 percent of the food distribution done by the ICRC in South Sudan is distributed by the use of airdrops. This is due to multiple factors, like poor access to roads, insecurity and prolonged conflict. In Toch, more than 3500 families receive food from a distribution conducted in March 2018. One day of food drops provides food for 300 families who are invited to the drop zone to collect their portion of food. This is organized by the assistance of South Sudan Red Cross volunteers, ICRC staff on the ground and daily workers from the community.
