Description :
“It’s difficult to let people apply the preventive measures. For instance, shaking hands is a tradition and it’s not possible to forbid that habit. When we told them about the ministry of health number (6666), they don’t want to call as they believe it’s the devil’s number”.
The overcrowded camp shelters at least 25,000 people who come from all over South Sudan. Measure to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 like physical distancing is not possible to practice, since there is no space. Up to 10 people live in a small tent and three share a mosquito net. Despite the pandemic, people don’t have any alternative but to stay there. Due to the ongoing conflict in some regions of the country, many cannot return to their place of origin.
