On April 1, 2022, an ICRC team manages to reach the military hospital in Irpin, near the capital kyiv. They find it empty and badly damaged.
Thousands of people are still trapped in Irpin, without food, water in electricity, many in areas where ambulances cannot reach. Among civilians who remain in Irpin, many are vulnerable, like homeless, elderly and people with limited mobility.
People met in Irpin say they need water, food and generators to be able to charge their phones. Many live in damaged houses. The ICRC is planning to deliver essential supplies soon but it cannot send trucks because of the heavy presence of unexploded ordnance.
