Description : The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) provides equipment and supplies to support the humanitarian response of the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) at the Egypt-Sudan border, with the aim to deliver humanitarian assistance to individuals arriving from Sudan.

The equipment delivery includes chairs, tables, tents, mobile phones, sim cards, power cables, and generators that will be used to set up three phone booths to support the ERC to facilitate telephone and online communications for individuals arriving from Sudan, allowing them to reconnect with their loved ones.

This comes in light of the Restoring Family Links programme of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, which strives to prevent separation and restore and maintain contact between family members during times of armed conflict or other situations of violence.

The equipment was handed over to the ERC’s branch in Aswan governorate, and subsequently distributed to several ERC service points in Aswan and Abu Simbel.
