Description : A fourth-grade student from Al-Firdous neighborhood named Fares shares his story filled with challenges and hopes following the destructive earthquake that hit the city on February 6th. After his building was severely damaged, his family was forced to evacuate, displacing from location to location until they found themselves at the Al-Bayroni shelter for displaced persons in Al Zahraa neighborhood.

Forced to put his education on hold, Fares misses his classes, his school items, and his friends. He wishes to return to school to continue his education and pursue his dream of becoming a civilian pilot.

"I miss my dear teacher Aya and friends Mohammed, Noor, and Saleh. I haven't seen them since the earthquake, and I have no idea how they are doing” Fares says.

Being the eldest among his siblings, he seems to have a strong responsibility towards them, aiming to be a role model.

Fares' mother talks about the difficulties they face regarding his comeback to school. Even though Fares would prefer to go back to his original school, she emphasizes on the transportation cost to the school, which is particularly significant considering the absence of income from her husband, an electrician, whose work was affected by the circumstances. As a result, she is considering enrolling him into the school nearby the shelter.
