Description : Her son was 30 years old and her brother was 32 when they went missing. Her brother was married and had 4 children. After taking refuge on Mount Sinjar, her son and her brother decided to go to nearby villages to get food for their families, but they were arrested by the armed groups.

She said, “I think about my son every second, and I cry for him every day. He was like a little father to his siblings, always taking care of them, He had such a kind heart, and he brought so much joy and laughter to our family. Since he has gone missing, we don't laugh like we used to.”

She continued, “As a mother, I feel that my son is still alive, and I hold onto hope that one day he will come back home. Whenever I start to think that maybe he's gone, I see him in my dreams. I don’t have anything that belonged to him to remember him by, because we couldn't take anything with us when we fled. All I have now are his children, and through them, I see my son.”

They grow some pink flowers in their home because it gives them a hope of life and it gives them a positive energy that their brother is still alive.
