Description :
The mother and her five children were faced with a challenge that turned their lives upside down. Driven out by the war, the family had to wander for seven years. When they recently returned to the village, they discovered that the house was in ruins. Determined to rebuild their lives, they set to work, rebuilding their house from the rubble with their own hands. Despite their best efforts, they had nothing to live on, not even food.
One day, through the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), they heard about an ICRC initiative to donate sheep. The news gave the mother and her family an immense sense of joy and relief. The prospect of having livestock represented a chance to regain some stability and self-sufficiency.
Once the grant had been obtained, their daily routine began at six in the morning. The son drove the cattle outside, while the family fed and milked the sheep. The milk they collected was a precious resource, used not only for food but also to create dairy products. The family received five ewes from the ICRC and SARC. These ewes soon gave birth to twins, bringing their flock to thirteen. The joy and gratitude in the mother's heart were immeasurable. The sheep became more than just a source of sustenance; they became friends: the children loved the sheep and played with them, often taking photos to immortalise these precious moments.
