From February 11-13, 2025, the ICRC participated in the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai themed "Shaping Future Governments." As a panelist, ICRC Director General highlighted the tough choices families face in conflict and the need for bold solutions to prevent and resolve wars, with a focus on political and long-term action for lasting peace. The summit hosted over 30 heads of state, 400+ ministers, and 27 international organizations. On the sidelines, the DG met with officials from various UAE ministries, the UAE aid agency, think tanks and organizations such as the Emirates Red Crescent.
