Description :
The "Matrones" project is based in the Nana Gribizi Prefecture, Central African Republic, in health centers supported by the ICRC. Women from various local communities are selected to receive basic training in pediatrics. These matrones, also known as traditional birth attendants, are well-known and respected by members of their community. They sometimes assist with home births.
