Description : A six-day intensive workshop on upper limb prosthetic management was successfully conducted at Erbil Polytechnic University (EPU). This event brought together 15 undergraduate students enrolled in the Prosthetics and Orthotics program and was held from September 6 to 11, 2025, at the university campus.
This initiative was made possible through a collaboration between Human Study, a German humanitarian NGO specializing in rehabilitation education, and the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The primary goal of this workshop was to enhance the skills and knowledge of future professionals in the field of prosthetics and orthotics rehabilitation in Iraq. This effort aligns with a broader mission to improve rehabilitation services for individuals affected by conflict-related injuries, congenital conditions, or other types of physical disabilities.
The students demonstrated a deep understanding of upper limb prosthetics management and proved their ability to apply their knowledge in practical situations within the healthcare sector. This training significantly strengthened their capacity to deliver quality care and tailored support to people with disabilities, thereby contributing to the overall improvement of rehabilitation services in the region.
