A team of Syrian Arab Red Crescent Society volunteers registers beneficiaries.
More than 400,000 people were displaced by the fighting in Lebanon and the surrounding countries. As the security situation continued to deteriorate in Lebanon, tens of thousands of people streamed out of the country, many of them to Syria, prompting the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Society to set up a special reception operation.
About 100 volunteers worked around the clock. They helped transport people to temporary shelter, registered beneficiaries and provided logistical support to relief convoys moving towards the border with Lebanon.
