Description : The "Safe Play Areas" project in Azerbaijan's frontline regions started by the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (AzRCS) in 2005. To prevent death and injury in mine contaminated areas, the ICRC has been supporting the AzRCS in providing safe locations for play to children living close to the frontline.

A safe play area is a piece of ground known to be safe is identified and developed into a place to which children and teenagers will be attracted and in which they are likely to want to spend much of their free time when out of doors
