Description : This young man is a resident of the village of Noanama. He suffers from Clubfoot (Talipes Equinovarus) but wasn't diagnosed or treated when he first started to develop the symptoms at the age of three. Afraid of being stigmatized and with the encouragement from the Sisters of the Order of Claret, he began to attend school at the age of 14. The ICRC has been assisting him and his family to travel to the city of Medellin to have a proper diagnose. Ongoing efforts are also underway in order to have him and his mother travel to the city of Cali to start treatment which involved reconstructive surgery and physical therapy. This action is part of the ICRC physical rehabilitation program, which provides assistance to wounded people in areas of conflict and to residents of conflict zones like this young man to improve their quality of life.
