From 18 to 22 October, The ICRC Regional Delegation in Harare organised an IHL workshop for 15 representatives of military and police forces from 12 countries member of the South African Development Community (SADC). Participants came from: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The main aim of the course was to discuss IHL and the protection of vulnerable persons during armed conflicts.
The participants wil in the future participate to the integration of IHL in their respective countries.
