After leaving hospital she received a prothesis from the ICRC and began work at the orthopaedic centre some months later. Farzana looks through the register to find the patients she will treat that day.

Description :
Farzana began in the laundry and later became a trainee orthopaedic technician. She continued her education with the ICRC support and completed a four-year technician’s training, followed by a further year’s study to upgrade her skills. Farzana became the family’s breadwinner, supporting her parents and 11 siblings. She has been working at the orthopaedic centre for more than 18 years.
