He hasn’t seen his 6 children for over 7 years, as they were separated and lost contact due to ongoing violence. Today he will be reunited with two of them, but the other four are still unaccounted for.

“We found the other 2 sons recently. At the time we lost them they were 8 and 9 years old and now they are 14 and 15” he said. Continued fighting had forced many to flee their villages, and many of them separated in the chaos. The ICRC’s Restoring Family Links program works to trace and reunite them, which includes phone calls, sending messages, and family reunifications.
