Description : “This was a great team effort by everyone to help these released detainees reach home” explains a member of the ICRC protection team. “When Myanmar Red Cross contacted us to say that more than dozens of people were stranded at the station and needed help getting home, we mobilized as quickly as we could. Within a few hours, everyone’s needs were taken care of and they are all on their way now,” she explains. ICRC's Safe Return Home Programme provides information and support for those recently released, allowing them to reach home safely and with dignity. Last year, the ICRC was able to support over 6,000 people through this programme.
