Bintagoungou's mayor is deeply concerned about the situation, as he explained it to an ICRC team : "A force stronger than us came and changed everything: climate change. This school was abandoned because of violent winds and soil erosion. It's a catastrophe for the 400 children who used to go to this school and who are now left behind. Without an education, they are particularly vulnerable to bandits and armed groups".
