Description :
A Facebook post changed Ko San Thein’s life.
Originally from Rakhine, in Myanmar, this young man saw his life turned upside down after a car accident. His love for playing chin lone (sepak takraw) became impossible after having both legs amputated. “I couldn’t do anything”, he recalls.
Browsing his feed on Facebook, Ko San Thein saw that the ICRC was helping others with protheses and contact the ICRC. “I received a reply and sought further assistance at the ICRC-supported TLMM Orthopedic Workshop in Sittwe. Now they prepared a new prosthesis for me", he said.
Since January this year, the ICRC team in Myanmar through five supported Physical Rehabilitation Centers has been providing prosthetics, crutches, and wheelchairs for over 3,000 people living with disabilities, including victims of landmines and other explosive devices.
