Description : This little girl is 6-month old but weighs no more than a new born. She was 3,15kg when she was first admitted a week earlier and she will stay in the nutrition ward until she is 4.5.

Her mother explains us how she's struggling to feed her daughter and her three other kids. "If I don't eat, I can't breastfeed her, I have nothing for her. My husband used to work in the previous government but he lost his job. He's now working as a carrier in the street (carrying packages with a wheelbarrow) but he barely makes 100 afghanis a day. It's just enough to buy tea, sugar and some bread."

The 300-bed Indira Ghandi Hospital is the largest paediatric hospital in the country. It is financially supported by the ICRC as part of the "Hospital Resilience Project".
