Description :
The Ebola virus disease has been confirmed in the Ituri province, where the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus has been identified. The outbreak is affecting several health zones, including Bunia, Rwampara, Bambu, Nyakunde, and Mongbwalu, which is considered the epicenter of the epidemic.
The Red Cross of the Democratic Republic of Congo, with the support of the ICRC and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, is contributing to the response against this outbreak alongside the country's health authorities. In Bunia, one of the seven currently affected health zones, teams are conducting burials and organizing awareness sessions within communities.
