Description : “In June 2025, the conflict began to interfere with our lives. We had never seen fighting in our village before, but now it is empty. An armed group suddenly began to attack us. We ran for 2 days, and on the road, people from other villages let us stay with them, and shared their food”. Zawadi was a farmer in her home village, and there was plentiful access to food and water for her 4 children. “When we first fled, I had to work in other farmers fields in exchange for something to eat. The children are used to life in the cold mountains, so when we came here, all 4 of them caught malaria quickly”.
