Description :
She is originally from the village of Rugezi, and before the escalation of fighting in the Hauts-Plateaux region, she worked as a farmer and managed to feed her family with vegetables and maize.
"At 4 a.m., an attack began. We sheltered in our home for over an hour, but the gunfire kept getting closer, so we fled. Three of my older children helped me carry the younger ones. We saw lifeless bodies as we fled. It took us two days of walking to reach a safe place, but I knew I had to protect my family."
