Arwad (the bride) comes from a village in the occupied Golan. Her husband Muhanad lives in Qraya, Syria, about 100 kilometres south east of Damascus.
In the occupied Golan, the ICRC - as a neutral intermediary - has been helping couples to marry across the front lines for two decades.
