Description :
Alberto Cairo, the head of the ICRC's orthopaedic programme in Afghanistan, discusses a paraplegic patient's condition with an ICRC-trained physiotherapist. Up to 100 patients can be accomodated at any one time in the dormitories at the orthopaedic Centre whilst undergoing treatment. Of these, 20-30 may be paraplegics, both male and female.
