Description : There are 40 groups from Halo Trust involved in clearance in this area, employing around 300 local people who have been trained for the job. There are at least 40 villages on the Georgian side of the Administrative Boundary Line which have been affected by explosive remnants of war including cluster munitions. Halo Trust say they hope to finish clearance by the end of the year though there will remain a danger in more remote areas. Until clearance takes place local people cannot farm.
