The ICRC supports professional training in forensic medicine to standardize working methods of analysis of human remains.
In Peru, more than 15,000 people are still missing as the result of the armed conflict of 1980-2000. Today, the ICRC encourages the authorities actions to meet the needs of families of missing persons. In addition, it works with associations of families, public and private institutions related to the search for missing persons and the psychosocial support to the families. The ICRC also woks with the authorities providing training, technical opinions and assistance to facilitate coordination and discussion.
