Description :
The volunteers of the local committee of the Red Cross Society of Côte d'Ivoire (CRCI) are managing the site for the displaced people, including the reception of new arrivals and their registration. In addition the CRCI is organizing night patrols to insure the displaced people's safety.
Following armed clashes, more than 3'000 persons were displaced to the small neighboring city of Grabo.
The authorities and the humanitarian community swiftly got organized to bring assistance to these displaced and establish a settlement site for for more than one thousand displaced. The ICRC, in cooperation with the Red Cross Society of Côte d'Ivoire (CRCI), delivered and installed tents, built latrines, showers and and improved the water supply on the site. Food and hygiene material were distributed.
