In cooperation with the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates, a two-day workshop on Health Care in Danger was organised at the Nation Society’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi on 22 and 23 October 2014. More than 15 health and medical personnel representing public and private hospitals in the United Arabs Emirates took part in the workshop, in addition to concerned staff and volunteers at the National Society. The workshop's main objectives were to raise awareness about the issue of insecurity in health care, outline the main aspects of the project and the progress that has been made since 2011, highlight the roles that various stakeholders can play, with an emphasis on National Societies, raise awareness about the roles and responsibilities of health care workers and to make participants aware of the Health Care in Danger project tools that are available.
