Description :
Over 700 people from more than 20 countries take part at the conference, including the Heads of the Parliaments, representatives of Ministries of Justice, Foreign Affairs and Defence of the CIS and countries-signatories of the Saint Petersburg Declaration, parliamentarians from around the world, political leaders from CIS countries, leading academic and governmental experts in the field of international humanitarian law, as well as high-level representatives of international and regional inter-governmental and inter-parliamentary organization. They discuss the relevance of fundamental ideas and principles of the Saint Petersburg Declaration of 1868 “Renouncing the Use, in Time of War, of Explosive Projectiles Under 400 Grammes Weight”, which were causing immense sufferings of the wounded, in the today’s reality of progressive development and use of new means and technologies in warfare.
