Description :
The family decided to leave their home on the outskirts of Macomia town for fear they would soon be attacked. Others in the area have also chosen to leave for the relative safety of Macomia after other villages in the area were attacked. They are among the many who are being affected by armed violence in northern Mozambique. Attacks on villages have been recurrent in Cabo Delgado since 2017. The area was also hit by Cyclone Kenneth in April 2019, deepening the suffering of already vulnerable communities.
