Description :
After thirteen months of displacement and with the rainy season around the corner, thousands of families who fled their homes in southern Chin State remain extremely vulnerable and in dire need of assistance. The Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) and the ICRC set up a joint operation to reach those families seeking shelter in Samee and Paletwa. Together, the two organizations provided cash assistance to nearly 2000 households and materials to renovate and rebuild 1800 shelters. The MRCS and the ICRC also donated engine pumps and fuel in Samee to secure access to water for displaced communities. Mine risk awareness sessions were conducted for more than 700 people, with billboards being installed to warn communities of the danger posed by mined areas.
