Sweida governorate, al-Taiba village. An ICRC staff member discusses with an apple farmer. He explains: : "The situation is hard, we don’t have livelihood resources except for these apple trees, but they taught us patience. This year is difficult because of the high prices. People had to sell livestock, take on debts, or even reduce the number of their daily meals to cope until apple picking season".

Description :
The ICRC and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent targeted al-Taiba as a priority area in need of assistance because of the great difficulties faced by local residents who depend, for the majority of them, on apple farming. The ICRC and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent thus distributed seeds, fertilizers and tools to each apple farmer to help them increase their productions and incomes.
