Caption : Goma, Lake Kivu. A street vendor carries water he drew from the lake. Many others do this job. But the water is poorly chlorinated and much more expensive than the water delivered through the public network - when it exists. Obtaining water from these sources exacerbates the already unsanitary situation in Goma. Many neighborhoods are hotbeds of water-borne diseases, including cholera.
