Description : Chrispin, an injured patient being treated at the Fizi General Referral Hospital, shares his story: "In Point Zero, when I was shot, they gave me first aid with whatever was available on the spot, just to stop the bleeding. Later, I was transferred here to Fizi. Upon arrival, I was immediately taken care of, and I am currently waiting to undergo an X-ray. I am sharing my bed with another person because there aren’t enough beds available."
The recent clashes have led to a sharp increase in the number of weapon-related injuries, putting significant strain on the operating theater of the Fizi General Referral Hospital (HGR). Since the end of December 2025, the number of weapon-wounded patients treated at the HGR in Fizi, supported by the ICRC, has quadrupled, placing surgical teams under considerable pressure.
